1. Product overview

Tractor drive axles are designed for heavy articulated tractors with 380-430 horsepower. Articulated tractors differ significantly from traditional tractors in design and operating principle: traditional tractors use a solid frame, usually with small front wheels and large rear wheels, and steering is carried out by deflecting the front wheels; while articulated tractors have two independent front and rear frames, each with the same specifications. Powerful drive axles and wheels located in the middle of the articulated joints and hydraulic cylinders create the relative angles of the front and rear frames, which provide steering flexibility. When the engine power exceeds 200 horsepower, the articulated design has more advantages in terms of traction, stability and maneuverability. To ensure the high power of the articulated tractor and its unique frame design, the front and rear axles must have a rigid drive axle, which is different from the traditional configuration tractor “steering axle and drive axle”.

Considering the severe traction conditions unique to high-performance tractors, our technical team, using a large amount of field data collected and engineering experience, carried out special strengthening of key structural elements of the tractor drive axle. By locally thickening and optimizing the design of high-stress zones and impact-resistant connecting parts, the overall strength and fatigue life of the axle housing is significantly increased. Of particular importance is that in order for the gear system to withstand the severe challenges of constant high torque, we adopted high quality Oerlikon bevel gears and other high gear bevel gears into the main gearbox. Compared with ordinary Gleason gears, Olikang gears have higher bending strength, better meshing stability and longer service life. Although the initial cost is a little higher, their superior reliability provides users with a lower cost of use in the long run.
